Stream housing

I took one of my 6060 streams out to clean it and noticed a piece of plastic about the same diameter as a pencil eraser has been knocked out of the rim on the body. This hole is in the flat surface that meets the flat surface on the removable cover. Anyway, the housing takes on water.

Are the electrical workings inside exposed?

If it is like in this photo, it is normal. The motor workings are completely encapsulated in a resin and impervious to water. The hole is there because the back 1/8" is hollow and it's only purpose is to allow a molded in groove to hold the clip and this lets the air out to keep it from becoming bouyant.
