I am in the process of building a 25gal rimless cube. I have already built and installed a foam rock wall and used travertine tile for the faux bottom. I must say it looks sweet, but I have overlooked one little issue... flow. With the rockwalls it's impossible to mount a stream pump to the back, and most of them look pretty big when you add them to a nano, even if you could mount them to the side of the tank. I was able to carve out a bunch of the foam at the bottom of the wall and countersink a MJ400 stream there, but it's all the way at the bottom of the tank. I need to add another closer to the top, but there is no way I can mount it to the back. Tank is 18" cube.
The MJ streams, while I like the price, are really big IMO, so I don't think I can find a good way of mounting another. I thought for about 5 minutes on an MP10, but I'm not interested in spending that much.
Can you guys post some pics of how you mount and/or hide your stream style pumps and what models you use? Any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm running fresh water in it now to get out the nasties before I aquascape it. This pic is of teh dry tank, you can see the hole in the foam at the bottom where the mj will be placed.
