stream questions

okay, I've heard of people hooking up stream pumps to there wavebox and I would like to try it. It might be too much but, I like to experiment so, what the heck. My question is this: Will all the stream pumps hook up to my wavebox? I've read that some have speed control and some don't so I just wanted to check before I order.
Thanks
Dan

ps The Wavebox Rocks!!!!!!!!!:):):):)

Thanks! I am glad you like it. Yes, you can do it with the 6000, 6100 and 6200. It has to be a new one so I wouldn't apply this advice to anything you may pick up used without checking the production coode with me. The older electronics and drive unit don't do so well with the frequent start and stop.

Are the 6200's backordered? I would mind picking up a couple of em. I think my sps would love them:)
Thanks
Dan

They might be out their, I am out of stock but just ran out last week but I am sure some of the dealers have them.

So the 6000, 6100, and 6200 have speed control and can be used with a wavemaker (frequent on/off), correct? The Tunze controller just speeds them up and slows them down between the two set power levels at the set pulse rate, right? But the wavebox is like a sudden on/off cycle in order to produce waves?
My question then is, what is the (electronic) difference between say a 6060 and 6000? Since you need the seperate speed controller, what is different about the pump that makes it speed controlable?

Also, can you use a 6060 or 6080 with a wavemaker like the RedSea which simply switches them on or off at various time intervals?

No, you cannot use the 6060 and 6080 on wavemakers, it voids the warranty and will destroy the pump. The electronic pumps run on low voltage and use an electronic system to monitor the pumps movement, control the start up etc. This enables them to be used this way. All of our pumps are unidirectional (unlike most powerheads the impeller or propeller can only spin one way) on the 6060 and 6080 the mechanical system is destroyed by frequent on and off, because the electronic pumps have an electronic system to assisst and ensure the correct direction of rotation, this damage does not occur.

I have 2 6100s and a multicontroller with them... I have since put a wavebotx and a wave extension on my tank... what do i need to run these in sequence and what is the best way to do this... I read above that you need a certain version of stream.... mine are about 5 or6 months old.. can you tell me what i need to do to run these together.. as of right now.. I just turned my streams off.. kinda silly to have all that money wrapped up in some pumps and not even run them
