Streams for 125

I have an AGA 125G RR tank with SPS, with the exception of my Goniporas. I use Gemini pumps at the moment for flow along with a Mak4 return pump. The tank has about 1-2" of sand as well. What streams should I get and will they create a sand storm? I was looking at 2 6100 or 6000 with a 7095 controller. Does somebody have a similar setup that can share some info?

I would lean toward the 6000's. The 6100's will likely be too much given the tank is short and narrow.

Roger, the tank is 72x18x22. Couldn't I get the 6100s and reduce the power to them via the controller? Or does cutting back power on the pumps damage them in any way? I do plan on going to a much larger tank eventually.

In a tank shorter and narrower than 24" the flow channels downwards and makes a sand storm for sure. The lowest speed of a 6100 is just a hair below the highest speed of a 6000 and you lose the main benefit of the pulsing turbulence. I would get the 6000's and upgrade them later by changing the transformers when you get a bigger tank. The 6000 and 6100 are the same except the transformer so they can be upgraded.

Interesting...they are upgradeable. What a novel concept in this hobby. Hats off to Tunze for that idea! I will definitely look into the 6000s. Now what to do with the money I save....?
