Alright guys..
I picked this clam up from someone getting out of the hobby about 6 months ago.. and i think he was kind neglected.. As he had those blotches .. i assumed that it was bleaching marks...? Well he has been doing great in my 100 gallon like i said for 6 months.. under a single 175 watt 10k Halide and VHO aquasuns and actincs..
Now i have upgraded the lighting.. to , 2 x 250 watt Halides ( 65k bulbs where free.. ) and 2 x 110 watt Actincs.. and its been 3 days.. and he is Gapping.. and wondering if this is common.. i have moved him off to the side of the tank where there is less light.. but more than what he had before.. Slowly trying to acclimatize him..
So just looking to see if this is common? and how long i should wait before getting too worried??
