Strontium and Kalkwasser

I think you'll find that most people replentish strontium, iodine, and other trace elements through regular water changes.

That depends on is uptake and you should be using a test kit, which will show you its demands, so you know how much to dose.

Strontium is 6ppm I want it about 9ppm.
Warner Marine Strontium just tells me to dose 3 teaspoons per 50 gallons and to maintain levels from 8-12ppm

And the reason behind that is what may I ask ? Sr does about zippo for corals, if that is your reason.

He's just mentioning that strontium is not that important for corals.

Most of us do not test for nor dose strontium so there are no calculated references like there are for the big 3.

Typical Ocean values of strontium are about 8 ppm. The recommended levels are 5-15 ppm so you see there is quite a large tolerance.

But if you want to bring your levels up, I would test, dose the 3 teaspoons and test again in about 1/2 hr. This will tell you how much 3 tsp raises strontium in your tank.

so because you disagree with my methods you wont answer my question? I really just want some help

I answer your question;

*That depends on is uptake and you should be using a test kit, which will show you its demands, so you know how much to dose.

*And the reason behind that is what may I ask ? Sr does about zippo for corals, if that is your reason.

Sr is not a require sup for corals, it is a substitute ion the just takes the place of C a++ because it is there. Naturally occurring aragonite precip' out of seawater will also pull in Sr, because it is there and fits into the lattice.

I asked you for your reason, a simple question, so it is you not answering questions.

Quite being so snippy with your replies ! People are just trying to help and are not mid readers.
