I'm dosing Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride at the moment. Should I use Strontium Chloride or Sulphate?
Will Chloride produce too much ion imbalance?
i generally dont advise to dose strontium to a tank... during skeletogenous corals lay down there skeletons with calcium carbonate in the form of argonite or calcite...when you dose strontium it can compete with calcium in skeletogenous and make a much denser therefore slower growing (as far as volume not mass) corals. But i do recommend weekly or bi monthly water changes which replenish strontium levels (as it is essential just not needed to be dosed....especially good for coral in the right concentration)
