Are there any tips or general rules for keeping a successful fuge? About a year or so ago I replaced my sump/fuge (design was basically the same, but not identical), and I've struggled to keep life thriving in it since - pods, worms, macro, etc, despite happy fish and corals in my display. I should probably mention that I can't keep pods/worms in my display either, though I attribute that to predation, not something setup related.
I do have a bit of nuisance algae in the display, so I don't think the tank is "too clean".
Below is a pic of my setup, pretty standard drain/skimmer -> fuge -> over, under, over-> return. Not pictured is a reactor running carbon and GFO (T'ed off the return pump, left of picture). Turnover is pretty low, guessing in the range of 3-5x. I know it's not a lot to go on, but let's start with the basics.
