Struggling Rics....

So I switched from a 2x96watt PC fixture to a 6 bulb T5 fixture&since then my rics aren't looking so hot, they just look smaller. It may seem like a stupid question but I'm assuming I should move them farther down in my tank. Right now they are in the upper 1/2. I'm also wondering if I should be target feeding them? Right now I do dose the tank with phytoplankton 1-2 times a week but I'm wondering if they need more than that. If so how exactly should I feed them & with what? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Smaller isn't necessarily bad IMO, but it's hard to tell without a pic. Were they reaching for light in the past? BTW, are they R. florida (not yuma)?

I let mine inadvertently grab mysis as I feed the tank. I wouldn't think they would gain any direct benefits from the phyto. They would most likely get fed indirectly from the increase in pod production.

That's a good point, maybe they were previously reaching for light, I didn't even think of that. The flow in my tank is pretty strong & between that & the fish in my tank they don't really get the chance to grab any mysis or anything. If I target feed should I try & get it right in their mouth or just anywhere on them?
