Stuff for sale - shutting down

Hi all - I joined ARK a couple of years ago, but never made it to any meetings, and now due to some issues in my family I need to shut everything down. I posted this thread in ctars a while back, and also on another reef form centered on new york city. But you are all closer to me generally (Trumbull, CT).

Let me know if anybody is interested in the stuff below. At some point I am going to start giving it away. Make me a counter offer for anything if you think it is too high (other than LR). I mainly need to clean out my basement asap. I have pictures posted elsewhere - send me a PM for a link to that location if you want.

contact me at borderjo@live.com for fastest response.

* a HUGE pale green carpet anemone (about 13" plus). Very, very hardy. I would be happy to get the $50 I paid for it, when it was totally bleached and half-dead. It is in great shape now, have had it for almost 2 years.

* 125 G AGA dual overflow RR tank, no scratches that I am aware of. $250 obo.

* around 100 lbs live rock, similar amount of sand. $1.50/lb for rock. Sand about 50c/lb? make me an offer for sand if that doesn't sound fair.

* 30 gallon acrylic drilled tank with overflow, Koralia 850. $75.

* 2 metal halide rectangular pendants, each with a mogul MH socket and 2 32-watt PC flourescent. They are of slightly different shapes and sizes, so don't quite make a pair. $125 each. In pretty good shape, though one has some rust.

* 2 metal halide only round pendants, with mogul socket. I lost the acrylic disks, and just used them open at the bottom above the tank. One has bare wires to connect to ballast, one has a connector (see picture later). $15 each.

* 1 DIY Kalkwasser reactor, basically a stirring rod stirred by an external motor periodically (glass rod moving on glass, so no wear to worry about). comes with timer & float valve, $30. I used it as my auto-topoff source.

* 1 IceCap 250 W almost new MH ballast, $80.

* 1 IceCap 175 W MH ballast slightly older, $50

* 1 Icecap 250 W even older ballast, mounted in some other brand ballast box. $50.

* 1 CustomSeaLife 2x65 W flourescent ballast, $20

I have 100 lbs of excellent live rock left for sale. This is a huge amount to get for $150. Some very big pieces, and several large pieces covered with red coralline.

125g AGA RR aquarium, $200, perfect shape (though has to be cleaned). I will donate it somewhere rather than drop the price anymore.

Hundreds of pounds of live sand, $100 for all of it. This is high quality coral sand that is live in my system right now. If nobody takes this, I am going to dump it outside.

30g acrylic tank, $50, with Koralia included (either an evolution 750 or an 850, can't remember).

Once it is all gone, I have a 150g Rubbermaid stock tank, $25.

Guys, I saw all of his equipment last night -- he has a lot more than listing here. ANYONE just getting into this hobby or who wants to start another tank, can get a full set-up CHEAP. The RR tank looks great -- really is in great shape, and he has a huge sump filled with live rock. With many more items / frag tank, calcium reactor etc... Please do yourself a favor if you need any equipemnt (lights/pendents too). Please give John a call. He needs the equip out pronto...so now is the time.

Side note: The carpet looks great in my tank john. Thank you very much, and I appreciate all the extras!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Seth. I spent years building this up, and find it strange that nobody is jumping on it. I remember scrounging everywhere for sand alone - it is pretty expensive. I am just going to list the lights and other non-live stuff on the auction site cheaply, hopefully it won't go to waste that way. But I hate to 'kill' the live rock and sand.

jbonez, as you may have gathered, the carpet is gone already.

I'm trying to find some time to grab some of the rock John, something always comes up, I'll do my best this weekend, keep your eye on your cell
