...poking around the tank after hours is pretty cool, lots of little worms darting everywhere in the column. No clue what they are.
I have 2 scallops on opposite ends of the tank, both a little bigger than a nickle, maybe quarter size. When I vac sandbed they get hidden or covered and pop up a few hours later in the same place....I assume they have a leg down.
Tonight I saw one of the 6 cerith snails coming over towards my zoa rock. Cept this cerith was sporting legs and claws...busted him down to the sump. FWIW, I guess he came in on the rock and had a meal and moved into his new gigs.
The three fighting conchs are interesting. They all seem to roll over the sand, then just bed down for days within minutes of each other, this usually last a week or two then repeat.
Still a metric million pistol shrimp in this tank, I see their eyes and shape at night and they move out. One king pistol shrimp is about 3.5" long live in the same rock (also with the mantis). The mantis, he is not social. He comes out and sits on his porch when the handouts are being passed out then goes in his hole and barricades himself there for a couple days. He is about 4". I think I got good or better bad hitchhikers...they are all terrified of the cleaner shrimp or the potter's angel.
The feather worm population is still heavy, despite me having a peppermint shrimp in there (he took out the two pieces of glass nems I had. Takes mysis, so hopefully he will not go duster on me.
Polyclad Flatworms...aka running jello mold. 3 big ones removed to date, they move fast and were maybe a couple inches around.
Excited to get the Rhomboid and Melanarus wrasse in the DT. Doing a shorter QT on them involving Formalin, API GC and TTM Hopefully the mel will take care of any flatworms that op up and the few remaining bad crabs....
My snail count is only 2 less than when I started. Including above.
