I guess it took the death of a beautiful creature and $20 to teach my why I should ALWAYS buy local. :uzi: Screw that big box store and their no return/exchange/refund policy!!! You all know which one i'm talking about .I was finally going to make my tank "offical," with a stiped cleaner shrimp. Worst part? It looked like it prego too!

When I am petco I always feel like saying. That ****** will be dead before morning. Just give it to me and let me save it.

That store is bogus. I remember I went in there once and saw a powder brown looking horrible and getting bullied by other fish. I asked if I could get it a discount and save it and they said no, they didnt want to sell a sick fish, RRRRRRR. I dont know how the hell they could even turn a profit from their saltwater systems . More deaths then sales.

Amen to both posts! Those big carpet nems are just about the saddest things I see in there; gasping with their oral disc as big as can be, detatched foot and deflated tentacles....so sad

They loose money on the livestock in order to sell aquariums. A manager there told me they dosed copper to the entire system to kill ich but failed to remove the inverts or sell them first. Cleaner shrimp dead in minutes. Saltwater is not something that can be done in a national retail pet store unless it is a place like Big Als or specialty chain that hires employees that can do the job.... Awhile back they were supposed to close down all saltwater nationwide but something must have made them change their mind..

I just saved 2 purple anthiests from PETCO. I watched them come in and literally bought them in the bags they shipped in. Fish are happy and eating. Pays to know the manager at the store. He tells me when the shipments are coming in and what is there.
