Stupid ice...

Hello all,

I made the mistake of leaving my Maxxima 50gpd RO/DI out in the cold the other evening... full of water. It froze and cracked the bottom canisters, much to my disappointment.

Any suggestions on what to do to repair it (and my ego)?
I've put in an email to Kent Marine, but they have yet to reply.

That's too bad. The worst part is you don't know what else is damaged. I would hate to hook it up and find out something else is broken by having a flood.

Here's the thing. Not only can the canisters crack since the water swells as it freezes, but the JG fittings crack too. In addition the membrane has probably ruptured within the housing.

RO units should never be outdoors, but if you must it should be fully insulated against heat & cold, as well as direct sunlight.
