Stupid question about lighting...

If I made a custom pendant for my 250w MH and was going to throw some PC lamps in there next to it... how far can my PC bulbs be away from the MH bulb? Do I need to worry about heat from the MH bulb doing anything to the PC bulb?

As of now they would be about 3" from the MH bulb.

that should be totally fine. ive seen PCs almost touching a halide lamp in some fixtures...

3" is very close and that will be a lot of heat... Rockin you have seen them closer? in what fixture?

i would say at the very least 5-7 away...

in retrofit kits...those in that picture look pretty close too. of course pictures can be decieving...

In general the farhter away the better. If you have good forced air circulation (Fans) I would not recommend less than four inches (mine are at 3 and the phosphorous inside the PC gets blackended in the section close to the MH.
Without fans I would say a minimum of 5 to 6 inches.
