stupid question but I was wondering

Ive seen it done on a tank at my friends house it really cuts down on the skim so he just made a hob refuge AquaClear check the nano forums and diy for the instructions on how this is done

Thanks. I just didn't know if it's unheard of or somthing.

This would be for a custum aquapod 24. I have an open top with 150W halide over it and a CPR 2R skimmer on the back that barley fits on due to thier design. I plan on sps in the tank so a refugium would come in handy but how is my concern.

Anyway thanks for the advise, I'll check the DIY

It can be done but I think the aquaclear ideas works better. Mine is just filled with rubble and has tons of pods and has helped to keep nitrates down.

That sounds like a great idea, I'm going to try and find a small filter that may be able to fit on the back next to the skimmer.

Ok so I went and got the aquaclear 20 and it looks like i might be able to get the 30, so far with no light I placed a bundle of coral ruble that has been in my 75 reef for about 3 years.

Would that be "good enough" or should I try and get a bigger canister and a light on top?

"I am even considering going to my local plastic store and custom make a refugium to perfectly fit my tanks design.
