Substrate type suggestions?

I'm getting ready to setup my 29 bio cube and didn't know that there were different types of substrate and different grain sizes. What do you recommend. I do plan on having sand sifting creatures.

Carib-Sea, Arag-alive is best, its size provides more surface area for bacteria to live. 1-1.5 mm diameter is usuall size. i wouldnt use sand sifters, unless its snails. anything else will eat your pods and you need those for detritus consumption.
