Has anybody been able to keep a puffer, trigger or eel, successfully in a mix tank w particularly shrimps?? while im at it reef tanks?

I have heard of people keeping triggers, think they are called niger triggers. I know of some people that keep snowflake eels. I don't know anyone that keeps puffers in there reef, wait I think pedromatic had one for a while. You always run the risk it them eating other fish/inverts.

I have a pair of very small blue throats and they look at my big cleaner like saying "wait until I get a little bigger" I fear for his life.

i never had any issues with my big male blue throat. I also hear that crosshatchs and pink tails are pretty safe too.

I have a Niger Trigger that eats ghost shrimp, but has never eaten cleaners. Same with my Dogface Puffer. The tank also contained Peppermints that were not molested.

Will a Niger Trigger be fine in my 28 gal, as far as size is concerned? Im concerned about my shrimps in particular, 3 scarlett cleaners, 1 blood, 1 peppermint & a pair of CBS that I am adding.

puffer, trigger or eel?

It is in there nature to eat shrimp. And while some people have had there fish not eat them its still in there nature. If they get hungry one day they will look at the shrimp and say mmm that looks good. Hey if you were hungry enough you would eat that same shrimp. Watch survivor man that dude eats anything.

If you get one they might not eat them. If you keep him well fed he may never. But one day...

IMO you tank is too small for a trigger. Triggers can exhibit incredibly fast bursts of speed, as mine does in my 90. Actually, I'm thinking about putting him up for adoption, he's now about 4 inches, and I'm concerned things may be getting a bit tight for him. In a nutshell, for a tank that small you should avoid aggressive fish, fast fish such as triggers.

A small puffer such as a Valentini would be OK. They're slow, peaceful and cute.
