sucess with out rocks

Sorry for the vague questions just wondering if its possible to setup a frag tank with just egg crate and no rock (live rock) etc... Can the surface area in the tank and the egg crate be enough?

I've seen it done successfully, but have no experience. Dont forget live rock can go in sump.

I did it with aragocrete but after about a year added live rock or are you connecting to your display with rock?

Not sure really just wondering if you need either live rock and or sand to grow sps's.

Few people on here running zeo or siporax have had success I'm running a small bit of rock in mine 10kg in 170 gallons just testing it and seeing really I'm running full Zeovit though
