Sudden death of various fish (info / opinions)

Well,

After a few years it looks like I finally lost my first few fish, and it hurt badly this time.

My wife called me and informed me a day ago that she noticed no movement from my Sailfin-Tang and Brown Powder tang and a smaller yellow coral goby.

When I got home I quickly removed the fish and inspected them thoroughly, there were no abnormal bloating / puss / tears / bites.

Changes in tank

Introduction of new corals including the following

- Frogspawn
- Bubble Coral
- Galaxea Coral
- Pink Tip Anemone
(possibly few more corals) these added in the last month

The corals are doing exceptionally well so this was very disturbing to me, I ran tests and my water parameters are in check.

The only different maintenance I have done as of recently is adding a lot more trace minerals + calcium. I will honestly say I added a bit much and at times did this in the morning when the lights had not been activated by the timers.

ideas ? Suggestions ?

The first question that comes to mind is: did all the fish die, or did some survive? I think you already understand that if there was something substantially wrong with your water quality, the corals would have shown it first.

If most/all of the fish died, and none of the invertebrates did, it is a virtual certainty that you experienced an epizootic of some sort. Amyloodinium probably is the biggest culprit of this becuase the symptoms can be missed more easily than say, Cryptocaryon....
