Sudden fish death (MANY DEATHS)

Ok so I am little ****ed right now. Any one have any idea what could kill 3 of my fish and counting,over night. Lost a Kole Tang, Flame Angel, Bartletts anthias overnight, LITERALLY. I have a sick hippo tang, and a questionable chromis. I pulled all of my rock out and then removed ALL the fish and are currently in my QT. They will stay there for treatment for the next 8 weeks. I inspected the rock and no signs of a mantis or such. Coral is doing outstanding so it only appears to being affecting fish. After research the only thing I am coming up with is Marine Velvet. My hippo is the only one actually showing physical signs of it, however the chromis is acting weird. The night before the hippo had a few white spots on it but, it usually has sand specks and what not, so I didn't think too much about it. Needless to say this caught me VERY much by surprise, as when I went to bed everybody was fine and then I wake up to a dead fish and then lost the other two, 2 and 4 hours later respectively. The key here is that the corals are all doing fine - that quickly rules out virtually all water quality problems.

Could it be that the fish were showing mild symptoms before last night, but you missed it? One common issue with marine velvet (Amyloodinium) is that sometimes, the only symptom you see is rapid breathing. Count the number of gill beats your fish make in 15 seconds and multiply that by four. Any fish breathing faster than 100 beats per minute may be in trouble, and above 130 is very likely having difficulty.

What treatment did you choose for the remaining fish?

I didn't notice any signs really other than the white spots on the hippo. Like I said though its not uncommon for her to have some sand specks on her cuz she likes a little hole right at the bottom and is frequently dragging herself on the sand getting in and out of there. ALL remaining fish have been moved to the QT and are getting a treatment as follows. First week, Prazipro and paraguard. Second thru seventh week cupramine only, and follow up with last week of prazipro and paraguard. That has been my standard QT procedure for 2 + years now and has worked well so far. I added one piece of coral about 2 weeks ago otherwise no new introductions for nearly 3 months. I am a little surprised that coral would bring this in after dipped in pro coral cure but its the only thing I can surmise right now.

It could be flukes or ick. Do a fresh water dip and see if any jello like substances fall off of them.

Something that fast sounds more like velvet. It can kill before you even see signs.
