suddenly agressive female

my 2 false perc clowns have been paired together for quite a while, they were introduced to the tank at the same time and have taken up a spot on top of a rock.
the larger one, in the last week has become VERY agressive towards anything new to the tank, say if i try to move a rock, or put the stick in to move something or scrape glass she attacks it. i got bit 15 times in a few minutes just trying to fix the screen on the overflow.
this is new behavior, but the thing that has be a little confused is the smaller of the 2 is REALLY fat - only just noticed this week.
they have been shaking at each other lately also.
just wondred what anyones elses opinion is on why the sudden change in attitude - and why the smaller one would appear prego lol

This happens when the female tries to remind the male whos the boss!Iv heard that a short bit after this behavior you might start to see eggs. The fat male may have a parasite.Does he have white waste?

Not that ive seen, he (she?lol) has only noticeably gotten fat in the last week or 2,other than that looks and acts really healthy as always, but i will keep a close eye.

Ya,alot of times when fish just get fat very fast it is most commonly a internal parasite.Well how are the clowns doing now!

I would have to say your going to have a spawn soon depending on their age, Females tend to get very aggresive and bity when their getting close to a spawn,. It could be a month or 5 but they are def showing signs of possible spawning. Keep them fed well and dont change any of their surrounding and youll be fine good luck

Today he doesnt look so fat, maybe he just drank too much beer
the female was even chasing away the cleaner shrimp.
