suggestion and sticky?

Hi Roger,
I admit I am new to the Tunze scene and am trying to catch up on these wavebox things and how they work. I haven't found a good description on the website. (Currently searching RC)

I'm sure you have answered that question a ton of times, maybe you could make good threads related to common questions a sticky.

My specific question would be that I have a 10'x4' (front to back)x30"(tall) tank ordered. I was contemplating surge buckets for this tank, but was curious as to your suggestions on how best to utilize the tunze pumps and wavebox combo in this application.

The tank will be a mix of sps in the middle with softies on the sides.

Thanks,
Steve

You would need a wavebox, 2 extensions and a branch adapter. To that I would add 2 6200 and a 7095. If you need I can search and post the threads. Search was down yesterday even for Mods so let me know. Otherwise if you download the Interzoo 2004 PDF on the tunze.com page their is some info their. It is in the bottom left corner of the first page with the flags.

Roger,
Thanks, I have made it through the last 6 months or so of wavebox posts and still working! I was just curious about some of the more technical info, it will probably be on the interzoo pdf.

I need to look into the extensions and branch adaptor. It was suggested by a current wavebox user that I might need as many as four waveboxes, but it sounds like you thing just one with the extensions will work. How big of a tank would you need before using 2 waveboxes?
Thanks for the reply
Steve

2 waveboxes will not work, the extension is a wavebox but without a controller. On one tank all units have to share the same controller to synchronize them. Every 320 gallons you need an extension.

Ok, so if my tank is only 625 gallons then I only need 1 extra wavebox?
or you must mean 1 initial box then another at 320 and a third at 625.
Sorry to make this complicated, I'm just not real excited about a ton of black boxes in the tank, but if it works, I"ll deal with whatever.

My setup should be the 2 streams in the back corners pointing forward and then all three boxes spread out along one of the side walls- correct?

At 4 foot front to back I couldn't put the boxes in the back thus making the wave go from the front to the back of the tank?

THanks,
Steve
