Hello all,
I've been reading and researching for a long time and finally bit the bullet and am buying a tank. I'm purchasing a Cadlight 25g with the built-in refugium: Cadlight 25g w/refugium
My plans are to keep the bioballs and a pad in the first chamber , for now, will probably convert to reef rubble eventually. The refugium will have either a DSB or some leftover MiracleMud from an old neighbor that I've been keeping, along with a couple rubble piles in the corners and some cheato.
Question is about the return side, which probably goes for any of these all-in-one tanks. I do not want to run a skimmer on this, I know there are strong opinions around that but for now, that is the direction I'm going in. What else could I use that area for other than the return pump and heater? I've thought about making it a mini crypto area by covering it and making a cage from eggcrate to separate the sponges and squirts from the heater and pumps. Anybody doing some thing like this? Or should I just leave it empty as a utility area for installing top-offs or dosers?
