suggestion for battery grip

i have a canon 40d. should i stick with the canon brand?

Let me say this, buying the canon brand if it's made in the us will help boost our economy, now if we are talking about just being to afford it, and price is an issue, i would go with the off brand, i have one on my d80 and it works just fine.

I had the Canon one on my 30D and hated it. Even locked fully down there's still a tiny bit of flex between the body and the grip. Hand-held it wasn't an issue but it was really annoying on a tripod.
