suggestion for first clam

My tank is ready for a clam and from feedback from a previous post, I should be able to keep about any clam.

What is good first clam to get? I want to keep it on the sand at the front of my tank. I have a slight currrent there but nothing bad. What is a good size to start with? I'd really like a blue one but my main concern is to start with something easier.

the easiest clam to start with is a Derasa. the best size for all clams is about 3" because the wont need feedings, ship well and seem to acclimate well

Sorry,

That was in another thread. The two inhabitants that I will have to watch are my yellow tang and Coral Beauty.

A derasa huh? My LFS has a lot of Maximas but I'm not sure if he has any derasas. I'll have to check tomorrow when I drop by.

Thanks.

Well, any clam that I was interested in. I have 2 250Watt MH's and 2 110Watt VHOs for 770 Watts in a 90 Gallon. It has a DSB so it is only around 20 inches deep.

TS-Vash,

I have Reeflux 10Ks on Coralvue E-ballasts.

Snprhed,

Not many right now. I have some zoos that came on my live rock, a devils hand, some yellow polyps, ricordia and several other types of mushrooms. I plan on adding some sps later.
