Suggestions for a centerpiece/show fish

I have a 220 gallon mixed reef with a 75 gallon sump with skim skimmer. 30% water change ever 2 weeks

Current Stock:
6 green chromis
3 pink anthias
2 bicolor blennies
2 clownfish
1 gobi
1 firefish
1 yellow tang
+clean up crew
All fish are generally small/young. I may plan on the future taking a couple or all of the chromis out to help lighten up bioload.

I have been looking for a nice wow fish such as an angel. I have never kept an angel before nor very familiar with them. From what I have read/heard thus far that they are hit or miss regarding temperament toward fish/coral.

Most of the coral is soft or lps.

Anyone have suggestions on what might work in this situation?

Thanks!

Have you looked into Genicanthus bellus at all? I think that a pair would be a good option, and they are generally more well behaved with corals than most other angels.

Soft or LPS, you take a risk adding an angel, but that is the route I'd go. IMO large angels are no more destructive than small, but every fish is different.

If you don't want to risk coral, do you have inverts you care about? I have a harlequin tusk in my reef, and he is a really cool fish, but I can't keep snails, hermits, starfish or shrimp.

You could also go with a larger predatory fish like a grouper, but he might eat smaller fish.

I also vote for the Regal Angel,. I've read that more often than not they leave corals alone. Highly praised for their personalities also

The Red Sea variant is the most colorful

Ian, most people that own Regals say they are model citizens as long as you keep them well fed. This is true about most fish, How much have you looked into the Regal and their wants and needs? Here is what LA says about them:

overview
With vivid vertical striations of blue, white, yellow, or orange on the body and pelvic fin, the Regal Angelfish deserves this distinctive name. Regal Angelfish from the Maldives and the Red Sea have a distinctive yellow breast, where their Indo-Pacific, Coral Sea, and Tahitian relatives normally have a blue/gray breast. This coloration is more prevalent in specimens that are more mature and are at least 4" in length.
Regal Angelfish from the Red Sea, Maldives, Coral Sea, Fiji and Tahiti are good shippers and are harvested and handled with care, and normally will adapt more easily than their Indo-Pacific counterparts to the home aquarium.

The Regal Angelfish is more difficult to maintain than other species of angels so it should be introduced first so that it may stake out its territory in advance of other fish. A minimum of a 125 gallon tank with plenty of hiding places and live rock for grazing will offer a good environment. The Regal Angelfish may nip at large-polyped stony corals, an occasional soft coral and clam mantles, but may be kept with small-polyped stony corals and somewhat noxious soft corals.

To entice a Regal Angelfish to eat, use a diet of fresh shrimp and chopped seafood. The diet should also include herbivore preparations which include Spirulina and marine algae, and angelfish preparations containing sponges.

Any species of Genicanthus angel

Any species of Xanthichthys trigger (crosshatch being the show stopper)

I'll have to take more time to research and decide. What do you guys think of my stock level right now and how much more could I add? I only plan on adding one or two more at the most.

220 gallon/75 gal sump with 260 pounds of rock
