I'm looking for a short getaway (4 days) in either Hawaii or Florida keys. Can anyone share their experience on either location. I'm also looking for suggestions on accommodations too. TIA!

If you go to the Florida Keys, Dive Key Largo or Looe Key. John Pennycamp state park has some really nice dive spots. Also google Hens and Chickens reef and Molasses reef.

Oh and a great little cozy place to stay is Rock Reef Resort in Key Largo. It's about mile marker 99. It's on the bay side and have cottages for rent FEET from the water. It's not too expensive either. They have their own boat dock, private small beach, you can snorkel around the back there too. I've had baby manatees come up to the dock a few of the times I was there.

Sorry there is no comparision between Florida and Hawaii-or for that matter Pacific and Caribbean/Atlantic/gulf diving. Just look at your tank and see how many of the animals come from the Carribean area. While Pennycamp is not a bad dive --Take a look at Molokini. If you can get to the islands do it.

I dove with Jack's Diving Locker in Big Island, and had the best experience of my life with them. I got to snorkel between dives with Pilot Whales. I also dove another charter who got us on a giant Manta. HAWAII is the way to go!!!!

I have done diving in the keys and I would recommend the dive molasis reef. I saw grouper, eels, lobster, a huge stingray, and even a turtle. It's awsome because it is only about 30 ft. You van stay down for a while. A place to dive with is in key largo. It is called amoray. It is a private dive so you can go with a small group and not scare the cool stuff. And the dive master goes in the water with you so beginners don't have to worry. <><
