ok guys and girls here is my situation 29 gallon not drilled reef tank with hob cpr skimmer and penguin 200 bio wheel for filtration. my lighting is a 30 inch corallife fixture with two 65 watt bulbs one is 10k and the other is actinic blue. all i have added to tank for flow is a mj 900 (not modded) with a hydor kroalia rotating deflector on the end of the mj900. no major problems just want any opinions on what to do next. i was thinking maybe adding a halide or maybe getting it drilled and adding a sump/fuge. only one of these would be an option. all other opinions are welcome. thanks!

depends

if youre not interested in adding some high light corals or anemones, I would drill it

actually I would drill it either way, I drill all tanks...just personal preference

hmm....is money an issue? because you can find a MH light from someone Im sure for around 100-150.....and a drilled tank for a bout 20-30......and plumbing from a hardware store.....a pump from another reefer abour 40-60.....so lol its up to you....Id personally do both but up to you lol :) I understand if moneys an issue and if so, look around, in a few weeks to a month, you should be able to find a whole setup for around 150...:)

money is an issue and cant use my tank for a sump cause it wont fit only got like 27 inches not 30 under my stand was gonna buy a 15 gallon tank if i got a sump. sump/ drilled or halides not both... only one is an option

I have a 29g, and use a 175W MH fixture and really like how the tank has done. I have candy cane, frogspawn, hammer, mushrooms, zoa's, and have little if no issues with it at all. I also use a hob skimmer. Really unless you plan on doing really difficult corals, it doesn't matter, because you would need both items you are thinking of. With the MH you would be able to do things like clams though if you wanted.
