have anyone heard about sumtran live rock? what do you guys think? is premium fiji rock good for reef? i trying to gear up my 300gal tank and i need some good suggestions..thanks

You do understand that just one run way built on an island would require more live rock then the entire trade imports? How about the wall of live rock that surrounds a large portion of Tonga? How about the house built on most islands out of live rock? Belive it or not, live rock can be a sustainable trade and can remplentish itself if done right.

i like getting the dry stuff (i think it's usually artificial) because you don't have to worry about nasty critters coming in. the one mantis i had as a hitchhiker has scarred me for life. this would be assuming you already have some starter rock and sand, of course..... and that you don't mind waiting for coralline growth. they do make it in some cool natural looking shapes too.
