day 1, I counted a picture, there are more than 300 larvae in here.
12days.jpg

These are some of the batch that started metamorphosis at day 6, they are at day 12 in this picture.
32days.jpg

these are some of the second nest that I harvested from my own brooding pair. 32 Days
42days.jpg

This is the first nest I harvested from my own pair. Yes, there were only 10 day between spawnings. What can I say, it was spring! These guys are 42 days old
4months.jpg

These are some of the last of my friend's pair's spawn. They are about 4 months old, a couple of hatches combined in this tank. They are a different color from my fish, which makes sense since his pair of Ocellaris looks very different from my pair.

hmm....kiddie pool, or husband?

Which should I choose?

Go for the kiddie pool. From experience...I am a husband... We would choose the pool too :D

Excellent work here....lovin the pics!

Very cool Kathy, some day I would like the try percs they seem to grow much faster some of my maroons must be almost six months old and they are only about an inch and a half long. It could be that I don't feed enough or the wrong stuff I really don't know but yours look really nice. I did give two to my son to try in his reef and they have been there a week now and they seem happy so maybe that's big enough.

You may want to consider doing Ocellaris instead of Perculas. Percs, I've read, take longer to get to market size, and the rate of misbarring is greater.

Ocellaris with intensive feeding can some of them be ready in 4 months. Not all, though. There are always stragglers in every batch.

I counted a picture from each tank yesterday, and here are the results sorted by age:
300+ in the larval tank, one week old and in meta now
60 3 weeks old
160 6 weeks old
160 7 weeks old
60 4-5 months old

for a grand total of:
740, and there are more that the camera probably missed.

That's it for a while. I am out of tanks and I won't sell the older ones until all their black markings come in, which may be a while.

I think an inch and a half is big enough.

Congratulations on your $2,960! I mean 740 clownfish LOL

I noticed if I restart feeding artemia( leftover form larvae, I ussully hatch more than I need) 2 weeks after meta, ocelaris develop the black markings and percs grow the second bar ( with less misbar)sooner.

VERY INTERESTING!

I was noticing that my 2 month olds have more black on them than the 5 month olds, and attributed that to the different broodstock. I just decapsulated another batch last night, and won't take another hatch for at least a month, so I will just use them up on the older fish.

2 weeks after meta, got it.

Cheers,
Kathy

percs do take longer I have some at about 8months that are just about ready for sale. I have let a bunch of hatchings go due to summer and alot of other projects on my plate.

Congratulations on your $2,960!

Wow, now I have one-hundred and sixty-FOUR reasons I'm glad I don't live in Michigan :D Here in So Cal that would be "Congratulations on your $5188".
