I added a 30 gallon sump with Octo extreme 160 and BRS GFO reactor about 2 weeks ago. Here are some observations since the addition:
1. Evaporation is up about 1/2 a gallon to 3/4 a gallon a day
2. PH has increased. I used to hang out around 8 to 8.20 but now it's between 8.20 and 8.35
3. Water clarity seems to have improved substantially - could be the surface skimmer provided by the overflow.
Any feedback on this? From doing some research it seems like these are pretty common changes after adding a sump.
