Sump Baffle Question

To start with I'm new to tanks with a stand alone sump so this might be a really obvious question. I have a new 65gal rimless that I need to get a sump for. Sump is likely going to be around 25gal as that's the general spec of what I can fit under the stand (thinking 24"x15"x15"). It's going to be a 3 chamber sump (intake, skimmer, return pump).

My question is on the baffle heights vs. my skimmer (I-Tech 100). The skimmer is supposed to run best in 6" - 7" of water.

Is that then what the baffle height should be between the skimmer chamber and the return pump chamber to get optimal performance from my skimmer?

I am in the process of setting up another tank with the I Tech 100. I am going to make my baffles 10+" and build a small stand to set the skimmer and Tunze pump on. I am planning a 9" water level in the sump.

6" - 7" of water in my sump is not going to give me the water volume that I want in the sump itself.

What ever size you decide to make the baffles just be sure that you leave enough space to handle the drain back in the event of a power outage. As for the skimmer just make a small platform out of PVC and eggcrate to get the height that you need.
