sump baffle question

I am making a sump out of a 40 breeder. Is 1/4 inch glass good for the baffles. Also is 10 inches tall enough? I am going to be using a ASM G3 skimmer and will have some room to raise the skimmer if needed.

1/4" will work fine, I would be afraid to use the 1/8" window pane glass as it's fairly brittle. 10" high would be fine as long as it leaves enough room for when the overflow drains in a power outage
