sump baffles?

I have been having a hard time deciding on if I should do baffles for this setup or not, and I think I am going to, but have a few questions first.

first of all, I am worried that with evap in the sump it will fall far below the baffles and run it dry, how can I prevent this?

second, is it okay to put LR in the skimmer/ return sections? can I keep cheato in them (I am trying my hand at having a fuge with xenia rather then macros because some AC members have had better luck with that)?

thirdly, what are the best macro algaes to grow that eat up nutrients?

The section of the sump that the return pump is in is where the water level will drop from evaporation. To prevent this area from running dry you can do a few things. You can try and figure out how much water your tank will/does evaporate and make it large enough. You can also use an automatic top off system to keep the water level the same in this area. Click on my red house to see my simple auto top off.

I can't see why live rock would be a problem in the skimmer and return sections, but I wouldn't put cheato in there. It could clog pumps. Cheato seems to be a popular macro algae and thats what I use.

This website has tons of info on building sumps and will be able to answer many of your questions.
