Sump behind my tank?

Hi again everyone,

I'm just thinking how I want to set up my tank, and I want to put my tank in one room and have my sump behind it on the other side of the wall with the plumbing going through the wall. (Similar to how they did the BRS 160 tank). I want to do a Herbie drain system and wanted to know if anyone has set up a tank like this before? Any issues with this set up you can think of?

By the way my tank is a 150 reef ready drilled through the bottom in the corners.

Thanks...

Obviously the bottom of the display tank needs to be higher than the top of the sump... or you switch it all around and put the sump higher than the display and the overflow in the sump..

but other than that lots of people "remote" their sumps (basements are very typical)..
Quite a few people do "fish rooms" behind the tank for all the equipment/sumps,etc...

No problems doing so..

great thanks... the only issue I am thinking of is not having the siphon drain have a straight shot into the sump. I will need some 45 degree elbows to do this. Will this create any issues?

My previous tank was set up that way and it worked great. Unfortunately I could not do this with my current tank due to space limitations.
