Sump Bubble Trap? 2 or 3 weirs?

I bought a Oceanic sump for really cheap, I took out all of the biobals and chambers and all that's left is two weirs/partitions that appear to be a bubble trap: one for the water to go under and then over a second one. Is there really a need for the third weir? Does the water really need to go: over, under, then over?

well of course... and it would be perfectly fine with no weirs if you don't have bubble problems, but I'd rather not set it up only to find out that I needed to add extra weirs and have to tear it back down....

So, I ask someone who would know, do you need 3 weirs for a bubble trap or will 2 work just fine?

IMO! I feel it is a need it helps pull the flow to surface and the bubbles become surfaced and pop. It helps! I have three mine go's over under and then over before return pump. Plus I have a bubble trap at sump drain outlet. With LR rubble, Helps confine the bubbles in and creates good flow.
