thats what i'm talking about...i dont understand how it would drain more or less by adding a tube....it would only delay the time not amount...

granted you would have more water in your system..

Ohhh, I got what you are saying, this is true, but I think even just adding the tube would reduce noise as the sucking from lack of water will start to get annoying, but the increase of water will help as i am taking away about 5 gallons/ each tank with the strainer being at the dead bottom.

It wouldn't drain any more or less water in volume/gph, it just doesn't allow ALL the water to drain out of that section. Honestly if the system has a large volume of water the amount you leave in there really wouldn't matter. If the system is a smaller system I guess it could make a small difference.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the whole point of adding the tube is; Pump stops, less water drains into the sump. And that's always a good thing.

Now that the plumbing is done, going to set up the AC Jr and make some brackets to hold the pH and temp probes in place, will put pics up soon

Yep, thank you. I will be adding the tube tomorrow, going to need to stop by home depot and get some 1" couplings.
