sumps are actually quite simple ive just set my first one up.

my tank has a wier which is a hole in the bottom of the tank and water over flows down into it, a pipe takes it down in to the sump, for the water to overflow in to the weir u need water from the sump to be moving up to the main tank so it goes in a big circle, so you will also need a return pump, so you need a pump thats will be srong enough to pump water up in to your main tank, and a way for the water to go back down in to the sump
i gues the above thing would work just need apipe that takes it down in to the sump

are you saying i need to drill something cause my above tank has water and stuff in it alsocan my idea with the overflow ever. leak like if the lights went out or would it stop to.

ok good cause if my tank overflowed my mother would kill me and would get ride of my fish tank. my tank is on the second floor of our house on rug and we are trying to sell are house. but what size bulk head and gph do i need. and what size hoses and power head things. ad what is a good brand
