sump help

Hello all..been out of the hobby for a few years..Back in with a 120g setup with sump...just powered her up this even and it is LOUD..lots of splashing and water noise. I think the main culprit is here, the input from the tank. It has a filter sock over it, but it just overflows the sock and still makes noise. This is my first experience with a sump so any advice would be much appreciated. I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong subforum.

plumb a herbie or bean/animal if possible, that will reduce the overflow drain noise. If it's overflowing your sock then you need to get a larger one or clean it more often. How quite are the baffels?

yea..I need to adjust my sock a little....The baffels are a not that noise as the water level is well above the second and third baffle..but I have no idea what I herbie/bean animal is

checking it out now..seems like lots of work..I already have a pretty nice plumbing setup running off a reeflo snapper dark @ 3600 gal/hour
