can any one give some advice on reusing a sump, i'm removing my wet dry from my 155 gal to add an existing sump that has been inactive for 8 months or so, what should i do, start over with new mud or revive the existing contents of the sump and continue using it. any help will be appreciated.

if it was me i was clean it good and start over, just to be safe. i would be too scared that something funky happened in there while it sat that long

I agree completely.
It is best to start over since the sump has been sitting so long inactive.
Just be sure to give it a good cleaning, vinegar might help there.
Then just let it dry out fill it with sand/mud rock and some chaeto and you should be good! LOL
