Sump Help !!!

Hello everyone i just set up my sump in my 75g and when i turn the pump of water still draining down from the drain line , once the syphon break hits the return line the water will stop from coming down from there but a small quantity of water keeps draining down the other line(dain line). I have observed this for like 10mins and keep going any suggestions

That was hard to understand, but this is what I got from it.

Your Return line breaks the siphon and does not drain back to the sump; but your drain line still carries water back to the sump after the pump is off.

What kind of overflow do you have? Is it an overflow box or built in overflow?

If it is an overflow box then the water will drain to a point and then stop, as no more water will enter the box once the level is low enough in the tank.

If it is an internal overflow then maybe a durso standpipe/ or plain standpipe will lessen the amount of water returned to the sump after the pumps are off. The pipe would lessen the amoutn of drained water because the actual drain hole would be placed higher in the tank. So the overflow box will fill as usual but the water can only drain to the height of the pipe. If there was no pipe then the box would fill and just keep draining until the hole at the bottom became clear of all the water.
