I have a sump that is really loud..the drain pump enters the sump into a small area where some would put bio-balls. I know bio-balls are a bad idea, so wanted to know what else to put in this little chamber to cut the noise down
I have the same issue until I revamp my system. I am going to fashion a filter sock holder, and use socks instead of filter pads to lessen the distance of free falling water (if that makes sense?), and hopefully the noise.
Run your overflow down tubes below the water line your sump. Elimintae free falling water, and this will eliminate all noise. it is also recommended to use filter socks as mentioned by OCMS. I just started using them and man what a difference...the amount of gunk they collect will astonish you.
