Sump & Live Rock

I have a sump that I am removing the bio balls. Any reason I can't put some spare live rock in the sump once it's empty?

Or is there something better I should put down there? Maybe a fish? I know some of our club members keep fish in theirs!

I have LR chucks and pieces in my sump. I only have fish when they decide to take the overflow ride.

I think live rock in the sump is a good idea. Gives pods a place to hang out.

Stacey LR makes a very good bio-filter in the sump. It will become very white but is easy to color up again if you want to use it in another setup.

Just beware that it may collect detritus and should get an occasional shaking.
