I have a 196 G tanks with a 2 x 1,5" inches drain and to 2 x 1" return and a 60 gallons sump

How many gallons per hours should the pump be. I need to also feed 500 to 700 gph to the skimmer.

Any suggestions for how many GPH i need

Bump pretty please....

I am getting info that contradict itself, so that why I need help.

I have 2 person that tell me opposite things...

most recomend 3-5 times the tank volume go thru your sump with only half passing over you fuge. that would be about a 1000 gph pump at whatever height you are running. one return would go directly to the skimmer the other to the fuge. just be sure to look at the head loss grph to determine which pump actually pumps 1000 gph at the desired height, also longer runs and more fittings all cause fiction loss and you may want to guesstimate and add a 100 or so gph. i have a similar setup with 4 foot head and i use a little giant 2400, i think its pushin somewhere around 12-1400, dunno i can't remeber.

So with a 2000 gph, I should be able to feed my skimmer and return to the tank!

200 * 5 = 1000 gph + skimmer 700 gph and plumbing 150 gph.

Does it make any sense?
