Sump Pump ?

hi guys...new to the hobby just building my first tank...and i have a question about the sump pump...

currently i have a 20H display tank and a 15 G sump tank the cabinet is going to be ~3' tall, so to the return to the top of the display tank is going to be ~5 ft.

i was going to use a Mag 5 for the pump but now i think i might go with the Rio 2100...

Rio is considerably cheaper, that is why i ask...plus the RIO's specs say it should give me a little more GPH at that head...

so what do you guys think?

thanx for your time and input guys...please dont flame me too badly..lol

Take a look and consumer reviews on Rio pumps, lots of people don't have alot of good things to say about them. On the other hand, mags are bigger but much more reliable.(in my experience)

I used a Rio 2100 on my 16g nano, and if your going to try to keep SPS, or anything that likes lots of flow, your going to want something bigger. Don't belive the chart rio published for that pump, if you want to get a better idea of the actual flow, use the head loss calculator on the home page here. I was only getting like 350 gph at like 3.5 feet. Get something bigger like a Gen-X 4100 or something that is rated aout 1000 gph. I did, and I'll tell you, my SPS and clams are all the more happy for it.
