Sump Question

Now that I have my stand unpacked its time to pick a sump. As Bugs713 suggested its looking like I need to go with a custom due space constraints. Inside stand dimensions are 28 x 28 x 24. But the door is only 19 x 19.

Will I ever need to take the sump out of the stand for anything? Cleaning? The back of the stand is open. But once the tank is put in place there is not enough room behind the stand to remove it.

Any recommendations on custom stand fabricators?

Usually you won't need to remove it, unless it need repairs. In that case its not too hard to drain some of the water out and move the tank stand.

It's a nice option to be able to do so. I know I like the freedom of access to my sump and frag tank. Here's the stand I built:

That's a nice stand! No way I could have built something that nice. I like the idea of the side door. But the way the stand is designed I'm not sure if it cutting out a second door would weaken it. The back is wide open and so is most of the top. That leaves the sides and corners to hold all that weight. There is only a 1" to 2" square frame around the top of the stand and the rest is open. Its basically 4 sides and a base. Good suggestion though. Maybe if I framed the side door it would provide enough support.

Any suggestions on custom sump fabricators?

Thanks! You could prob reinforce the frame and then cut out a side door if you really wanted one. It's really just for convenience for my purposes but not a necessity.
