Sump Question

I have a 75 gallon tank for a sump laid out from left to right, refugium, return, skimmer. I have an 18" baffle going in just to the right of the refugium at around 9-10 inches and an 8" baffle going in just to the left of the skimmer. My question is, should I have more refugium or more return zone and what are the reasons for each?

Assuming you have an ATO: smaller return section. Big enough that you won't be stuck if you replace your pump with something bigger later (your next pump have the same flow, but require a bigger footprint). A bigger fuge section gives you options. I keep my heaters in there, and if It was smaller I'd be stuck. I also have a box of marine pure spheres in there.
I mention the ATO because, typically, the return is the section that the water level drops from evaporation. Baffles are usually designed to keep consistent depth for skimmers and fuges. IF you don't have an ATO, you will want that section to be bigger as a fallback.
