Sump/ Refugium setup

already posted for some help in the lights, filters section but thought I would get some more attention in the New in the Hobby section .

I want to get a sump and refugium for my 250gallon marineland dd tank coming in next week.. any suggestions/ pictures ?

I think its coming with the Marineland sump model 4 (which doesn't seem very good.) so I want to see what else is out there..

Any ideas?

I use a 40breeder for my 120. I think the bigger the sump the better. I is pretty to make a tank into a sump. Some pieces of glass cut to fit and tank safe silicon and you are good to go.

You can make any tank into a sump. Usually, bigger is better because it'll give you more room for equipment, more overall water volume, and more room for back siphon from the DT if the power goes out. The 3 chamber design is popular with a skimmer section - refugium section - return section. It doesn't have to go in that order either... you'll have to do some research for sump designs to decide what sounds best to you. You can also have a custom sump made if you don't want to worry about doing baffles yourself. I got mine from Advance Acrylics.
