sump/refuigium desing contest!

alright guys,

ok so im starting a 240 in a few monthes and need a desing for the sump/refugium. its a 60 gallon you have to work with. it will be pretty heavily stocked (not overstocked) so i need a pretty big fuge. for equiptment. ill have a berlin xl skimmer and three 300wtt finnex heaters all on a controller (not sure if i would even put these in the sump or display?) the fuge will be lighted 2 "plant light bulbs" in standard sockets. the tank will be hawaiian based so i only want to use hawaiian algaes in the fuge

so you have to have a diogram with lables weather its sketched and scanned done in paint or digitaly made. and a detailed description. with brand name types of pumps (i dont want to spent alot!) every one is limited to one post for there desing.

the top three will be put in a poll with original picture and descriptions. ill use the winners desing.

You might get a better response either first designing it THEN asking for help or copy one of Melev's on his website. "Tricking" people into it won't get far as there aren't many gullible people here

1/3 skimmer/intake section (make sure its big enough to hold the skimmer, if it isn't, make it bigger)
1/3 fuge
1/3 return

Make sure you put in an over/under/over baffle between skimmer and fuge, and then a single baffle after the fuge.

Besides that we need more info to even help you. Are you going with an extern return pump or submersible? Is your skimmer pump extern or submersible (can we talk you into a bettter skimmer), what flow rate do you plan in your sump, do you have an ATO with an ATO the return section can be very small with more space devoted to fuge. If you don't have an ATO how much evap reserve do you need in the sump. IE 2 gallons a day and atleast 2 days worth?

kgross, the skimmer is has a sub pump. the water pumps are for you to deside. i wont have a auto top off. and dont know how much ill need to top off.whats evaporation reserve?

none taken. ill look up some good desings and use them or make my own it wont be hard. i was just thinking it would be fun for people to desing the best fuge they can and have some one use there desing. i guess this thread is junk now?

Wasn't meaning you were trying to trick people but that's what I saw it as. I took it as having 3 people to paint a wall on the outside of your house and the winner gets to paint the 4th wall on who does best Designing one can take a hour from scratch or longer. I'd help but my time is limited. I'd honestly go to Melev's website and then sketch your own. Only takes a few minutes.

lol yeh i think there needs to be more motivation then simply knowing your design got used! i cant even get enuf time to design mine properly! how about a gem tang to the winner hey! then youl end up with the mother of all sumps!!!!!!!!
