sump sizing

What size sump works best for my 120 gallon tank. should I buy a 30 gallon from petco during their dollar per gallon sale and what size pvc should I use? for overflow?

Go with the 40B. Better size for sump. 1" pvc should be good

I agree with the 40 breeder. It's just so much easier to maneuver equipment with the extra front to back space, and the 120 has the space under it to hold it.

I have a 40b on mine. It seems to work great. Plenty of room for skimmer and heaters with the bonus of room in the stand for two 1 gal dosing jugs. The 40b also has capacity to handle power off drain down.

My BeanAnimal drain system is all 1".

My tank must be a 125 then because it is only 17 inches wide. The stand with the trim inside is only 17 1/2 inches wide.

You could go with a 40 long, or standard 55 gal.

Standard 55 sucks for a sump. Did mine with a 55 and wish I didn't. Too narrow and too tall.
